About Empowering Our Little Sisters:

Offered in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg, Empowering Our Little Sisters (EOLS) is the first mentorship program for Aboriginal girls, by Aboriginal women in Winnipeg.
Founded in response to the suicide death of an eleven year old girl in the city's North End, EOLS strives to nurture and empower the dreams and aspiration of young girls - our future life and caregivers, through healthy relationships, friendship and guidance.
Through the power of Aboriginal women's leadership, we are reclaiming one life at a time - showing our girls the way to a future filled with endless hope and possibilities. What's more, we are creating a circle of support for young girls and their families - whereby mothers, grandmothers, aunties and sisters can learn and grow stronger together.
Time and again, we have seen the power we hold as a community when we come together in unity. We all know the challenges that our Aboriginal children and youth face, and we see the inherent potential that lies in each young life.
Climb for Kids - Kilimanjaro 2008 represents a tremendous opportunity to reclaim our responsibility to our children - be it as mentors, role models and friends, or through donations that help to create the kinds of opportunities our kids need and deserve.
